SDSLHA Award Nomination Information:

Award nominations will be open again in the Fall of 2026. The list of Awards and their criteria are below. If you have a colleague that you would like to nominate please consider nominating them in 2026. 


SDSLHA Members in good standing are encouraged to submit nominations for the following awards:

Honors of the Association
Recognizes: An SDSLHA member whose contributions have been of such excellence that they have enhanced or altered the course of the professions.
Award: Wall plaque

Distinguished Service Award
Recognizes: Individuals or organizations outside of the professions of speech-language pathology and/or audiology for significant contributions to the fields.

Award for Volunteerism

Recognizes: An SDSLHA member who has made significant and outstanding volunteer contributions to SDSLHA and serves as a model of volunteerism to others.

ASHFoundation State Clinical Achievement Award
Recognizes: An SDSLHA member for a significant accomplishment in clinical practice within the past six years in audiology and/or speech-language pathology.
Award: Wall plaque and nomination for ASHFoundation Lewis M. DiCarlo Award for Recent Clinical Achievement

SDSLHA Nominee for ASHFoundation Rolland J. Van Hattum Award for Contribution in the Schools
Recognizes: An SDSLHA member employed by a school system for exemplary commitment and contribution to the delivery of audiology and/or speech-language pathology services within a school setting.
Award: Wall plaque and nomination for ASHFoundation Rolland J. Van Hattum Award for Contributions to the Schools
